We admire the scientists of Siberian Federal University who have developed the digital service Pythia — a tool for predicting student success in educational programs. This system helps reduce the risk of academic failures for students at all levels of education and has already been implemented across all institutes of the university.
Our colleagues share examples of how the system identifies learning difficulties in a timely manner, allowing faculty and advisors to address the underlying causes. Thanks to this innovation, the number of students failing to pass assessments, especially in the early years, has significantly decreased. Students continue their studies successfully, impressed by the university’s attentiveness and strong student-centered approach.
The system also analyzes students’ digital footprints within the electronic learning environment, helping to identify the most and least effective online courses. This allows the university to decide whether certain courses need updates or adjustments to their role in the curriculum.
Undoubtedly, this significant improvement in educational program management, student-centered university processes, and student satisfaction — along with the prevention and mitigation of academic risks — will be considered by our agency’s experts when monitoring compliance with established accreditation criteria. These criteria were previously evaluated by the Russian Register as part of the professional-public accreditation of Siberian Federal University’s educational programs.
